Enterprise for a Sustainable World was founded in 2006 by Stuart L. Hart and Gordon A. Enk as an action-learning and project management resource for companies seeking to implement the Base of the Pyramid Protocol. That year, ESW launched a collaboration with the Solae Company (a subsidiary of DuPont) to implement the BoP Protocol in India, while also continuing to support the initial BoP Protocol project by SC Johnson in Kenya. Since then, ESW has launched an additional BoP Protocol project in the U.S. with Ascension Health and is broadening its activities to include other tools and services developed by Stuart Hart and his colleagues.
